this is a concept that has been done before, so we won't claim to be the first to have done it. this community is for the majority, organic-based. what we mean by that is that while you are allowed to search for lines, we'd like to limit those to roommate(s). ideally, we'd love to see a brand new character that doesn't have pre-planned lines here but if you are interested in playing a character that you've played for some time now, we ask that you do not join with established lines unless they fit one of the aforementioned lines. we intend on being an organic community and if you are interested in bringing in a character who would have several lines attached, it would disturb the vibe of the community we're trying to provide for our members. of course, we understand that an organic community is not for everyone and that's okay! there are other non-organic communities out there that would be a better fit for you if that is your preference. we thank you for understanding! the opening of relationships will coincide with the opening of the complex that your characters will be living in. the complex is going to be based on indigo apartments in austin, texas. please note that there are various amenities, floorplans for apartments, and different sections of the complex. we ask that you choose a floor plan that best suits your character's needs. on the matter of the storylines that you are allowed to bring in with you, you are allowed to search for up to 3 (three) roommates as some floorplans are capable of housing that many people. whether those are family, friends, strangers, co-workers, or an ex is up to you! but please do not search for lines outside of what has been allowed in the rules.

updated 1/5/22: due to an increased interest in the community, we have decided to lift the organic line rule until february 4th. this is a trial run to determine whether or not it will remain, or if we will revert back to our original rule regarding lines

we encourage drama here! this is a complex where most everyone is just getting to know each other. we don't expect everyone to get along right away, or at all for that matter. we welcome neighbors stealing each other's packages, fights over a parking space, complaints about too much noise. on the opposite side, we'd love for characters to build and grow genuine friendships. we encourage characters from all walks of life, don't be afraid to let your creativity shine when coming up with your character! please remember to keep all drama in character.

please note that we here at relationships are a community that will not accept everyone that applies. rejections are a common part of rp and we hope that you understand if we do not find you to be a good fit for our community.

as far as journals go we require an ooc journal with no underscores, unnecessary numbers, or letters. you need both backdated in character and out-of-character posts. your out-of-character post is required to have basic details about your character such as their name, hometown, birthday, floorplan choice, roommate, (n/a for characters who choose not to have a roommate), occupation, and other essentials. we highly encourage you to put up facts about your character, though it is not required at this point. if you are bringing an older character, please remember to clean out your journal for the most part when joining.

in lieu of examples, five detailed facts or a blurb as well as basic information (such as name, date of birth, occupation, etc) are a reasonable expectation and are required to show that you have put some thought into your character.

after you're accepted into relationships you have 72 hours to post an introduction in infos. as per usual, you will have 72 hours to post an introduction and respond to comments otherwise you will be removed for inactivity. updates are two posts during the month. your intro will only count if you were added after the 25th of the month. there are no length or format styles for your updates. use the proper trigger warnings on posts containing sensitive subjects. update requirements

• two posts per month, at least one must be interactive with comments enabled
• intros will apply toward monthly activity for members added after the 25th of the month
• use appropriate trigger warnings as necessary

activity requirements

• post in infos within 72 hours of being added
• keep an eye out for mid-month activity checks
• be active on the friends page and respond to comments

adds and removals will be done more than once a month so please remember to keep your friends list up to date. we are looking to keep the community just that, a community. make sure to respond to comments on not only your posts but comment on others' posts as well. we will be having a mid-month activity check to make sure that people are still around but if you're unable to participate please be sure to let us know so that we don't accidentally remove you. if you have been removed due to inactivity or for having an outdated friends lists more than two weeks old, feel free to reapply with your activity in the application.
